Temporary Solution to hair-loss

Exactly 6 months after giving birth to my lil one, I experienced hair loss. It must have started off gradually and I thought then that it was "normal" to experience hair loss after childbirth. But I am still having this problem and my son just turned 2!!!!
I used to experience heavy hair loss every single time I washed my hair. They come off in big bunches! Scary! Every single time I brush my hair, sure there will be at least 5-6 strands of hair on my comb, plus another 5-6 strands on the floor. Then when I tie my hair after combing, a few more will drop off. And to untie my hair, a few more will stuck on my hairband. And if I tie & untie my hair say 5 times a day .. I dont even dare do the calculations !!!

My SIL recommended me to use Rene Furterer Hair Tonic from Sasa but Sasa Malaysia does not import them. So I ended up buying A'Kin shampoo & conditioner for sensitive scalp.

I have now used up about half a bottle. I still experience hair dropping while I wash it but far less. When I dry my hair and comb it, there is usually about 2-3 strands of hair on my comb and say 1-2 strands of hair on my hairband. I feel much better now. My hair feels good! It is soft and manageable too probably due to the conditioner.

I paid RM56 for both the shampoo & conditioner after a 31% discount. Normal price is RM40 for each of them. I will continue using it see if can help me solve my hair-loss problem.

If you guys have any sure-works solutions for hair-loss, please do share it with me please ... please ... please.

Alkaline Water

So how many of you already have an alkaline water filter at home? Hands up please.

I knew nothing about this until my boss asked me to get an alkaline water filter for the office. I never knew what "alkaline" water means cos I never previously bothered enough to find out about it. All I know and heard before was simply water filters, RO water, "energy" water, etc but alkaline water was something new to me.

It is said that from all the food we eat which normally contains a high level of fats & sugar, this makes our body acidic and hence, leads to many kinds of illnesses. In order to balance it out, someone out there came out with alkaline water-producing filters. I think there are several brands out there and they dont come cheap. The one we bought for the office costs more than RM2,000.

I have been drinking it for the past 3 months but honestly, I dont notice any change for the better in me. However, my office driver did give his to his dad (in his 70s) to try and he said that his dad feels much better as in less body aches and pains - wow. So now, he dutifully fills up bottle after bottle to take home for his dad every day - which I totally dont mind (*smile*).

I might really consider this for my new home next year. If anyone knows of any other brand (other than a japanese brand) please do let me know. I heard there are cheaper China-made brands but a bit cautious of them unless its recommended by friends. So do let me know ya?

Keeping to a diet plan (?)

Can someone tell me how to keep to your diet plan over the weekend?

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever during my week days at the office but when it comes to the weekend, I just cant keep myself away from the food at home!

I try to remind myself over & over again that I should behave but somehow I just feel weak if I dont indulge in something sweet (like a piece of cake or brownies, roti canai or my favourite nasi lemak).

And the worse part is I developed a passion to learn to bake! So how am I going to improve in my baking skills if I don't eat them huh?

Any suggestions anyone? Maybe I prayer like this helps a wee bit at least?

Good Girl!

I was at KLCC yesterday to run some errands.

On my way around the mall, I could not help but to suddenly notice so many delicious food around me! Gosh! Why do they all looks so damn appetizing when you're on a diet!!!

During my previous visits there & when I was not on a diet, I had to scratch my head hard to decide what I really wanted to eat - cos everything then was, just so plain. But this trip, oh my god! Killing!

I was trying to find something that was less sinful so that I can have an excuse to indulge a little but my favourite stall - La Cucur - would have cost me 300 calories per tiny piece of "kueh" and I would have needed at least 3 pieces to keep my mouth shut!

I decided that I should stay committed to my plan and just walked out of the mall and head back to the office. Enroute, I instead, bought 2 pieces of fresh fruit at a nearby stall and had that. It was cheap & good.

While having it, I felt proud of myself for not throwing the day's effort down the drain.

Hibiscus Flower Tea

Have you heard of it? Apparently it consist of several health benefits if consumed daily.

It is said it boast a high level of vitamin C and antioxidants which can strengthen your immune system and help fight free radicals. It is also said to lower cholesterol and high blood pressure. Sure sounds good to me as I've got some family history with high blood pressure!

I've been taking this tea for the past one month. I can feel some improvement in me especially my energy level. I'm not sure if its the tea or my water therapy that's helping, or both, but I do experience much less of aching feet after even more than 2 hrs! Previously 30 mins in the mall can send me packing home for a rub with some Counterpain ointment.

I think I will continue drinking this everyday. I would normally mix it with 1.5 litres of warm water and finish it before lunch time. Then another 1.5 litres of filtered alkaline water till I clock off from the office. And that will be my 3 litres of water/day health plan (*smile*)

Food Filled Week - Part 1

Oh no! Distractions again! There goes my health plan for the week!

But the good news is .. Happy 70th Birthday, Mother!!!!

Its was my mother-in-law's birthday last Tuesday and both my sister-in-law and their respective families will be flying & driving back to KL to celebrate this very auspicious & joyous occasion.

We had a lovely dinner at one of the local chinese restaurant.

She has requested for a similar "monk-jump-over-the-wall" that we had during this year's Mothers' Day celebrations. She really loved it cos it was the authentic (and very expensive!)
version (smile smile) and since my sis-in-law from Hong Kong is back in town, she suggested we order that again to let them try.

We also had several other dishes .. pics below ... but no pics of the famous "monk-jump-over-the-wall" cos by the time the dish arrived, I almost lost my appetite attending to my hyper-active son ...

We also had the birthday cake specially ordered from the very famous Just Heavenly team.

Its a marbled butter covered with a just-nice sweetness of buttercream and some cute little "sau pau" as decoration. This is my birthday gift to her and I hope she likes it.
I also hoped everybody enjoyed the cake much as I did! Oops! Sorry! I know I should not eat too much .. but I just had one piece ... really!

Nope. Nothing's happening.

Yeap, you read me right. Nothing has happened for the past 2 weeks.

You know what I am talking about right? Yeap, that's the one I am referring to. My health plan. Yeap, you read me right again ... I've been on very low calorie meals + 3 litres of water/day for the past 2 weeks and I dont feel an inch smaller or a gram lighter! Damn!

To be fair, I have not stepped on the scale since I started my health plan. So, I plan to do so next week when my work schedule is better, so that I can call in my health coach to bring along her ever-reliable electric scale that can measure every single layer of fat in me!
