Orchid la!

Do you remember the TV advertisement way back where the toddler's father was trying to teach his son to pronounce the word "flower" a couple of times and suddenly, the toddler snapped back saying "Orchid la!"??   It was darn funny rite??

Well, I got my "orchid la" moment last weekend when my little brainy at home decided to outsmart the mother!  

We were driving back after his UCMAS class that afternoon and I saw a chicken crossing the road - yes, crossing the road.  Then I quickly called him to see and said "Bryan!  See chicken!  Quick quick!    He scrambled up from the car seat and took a look and then snapped back .. Mom, its Rooster la!


Both hubby and I really had a good laugh I tell ya!   Smart little fart!

Why no updates?

Because I dont know how and when it happened, but when I wanted to download all the new pics of my cupcakes and bryan's, there was nothing on my phone! Aiyoh! All those that I snapped for the past months and all my videos are all gone! I really dont know how it happened so I am still recovering from the "trauama". Thankfully, all my phone contacts and appointments are still in there .. so strange stuff happened ... and I cant recall how it happened.

Anyway, Mom has been feeling down lately. Bryan seems to be pretty weak since he fell sick the 2nd time last month. He is not "weak" as in really weak. He still is still jumping, running & bouncing all over but he just does not want to eat solid food. He used to love chicken rice, kuay teow soup with fishballs and recently nasi lemak with chicken, but for the past full week, he does not want a single scoop of rice or anything! Just milk.

We took him to a chinese sinseh last weekend and he claimed that he is pretty weak inside. And so now Bryan is on medication with chinese herbs. Thank god, he loves chinese medication. The more bitter the better! Yeah, strange lil boy. Try giving him some western medication (be it strawberry or orange flavour) and he will yell his lungs out!!! And try giving him this bitter medication, he will go running to the high chair and wait for me to finish bancuh the powdered hereb with warm water and then open his mouth wide wide. He would sometimes GARGLE his mouth with the chinese herb before swallowing! His version of wine I guess!!!

I hope and pray he will have his normal appetite soon.

Own land on Moon!

I really dont know what else these people are going to come up with next! Read today in The Star online that there is this lady - a dumb, crazy, siow-char-bor lady that actually buys a piece of land each year on Shah Rukh Khan's birthday as a gift to him!

It sure does sound acceptionally unique! And yeah, it caught my attention and probably a million others, and yeah, a good marketing/pr effort indeed.

But land on moon? I dont know lah.

Taking it a notch higher!

The past weekend was the worst! I feel really exhausted having to keep up with my terrible-two! He ah .... aiyoh, I dont know how to describe. Dont understand where they get all their energy from. And not only the energy I am amazed at - its their creativity too! Climb here and there, take this and that, run up & down, sleep on the grounds of the car porch, every single thing on the desk - once in his hand, sure will be broken in the next 5 seconds, makan also jumping around like a monkey, mandi time wanna sleep on the bathroom floor - only then can let me scrub him!

Mom said to be patient and maybe about 3 or 4 yrs old, he will be all well & good. Oh mom! I know you are right but its just too much now. Too tiring.

Whoah!!!!

Aiyoh! I cant believe I did not update my blog for so long! Im sooooo sorry! You know, it has been crazily unbelievably busy at my new place. Spending 10 hours a day is normal! But then again, to comfort myself, I believe its just the settling in phase. So many issues with regards to new staff, new furniture, new this and new that.

But still .. I found time to go to The Andaman! Yeah!!!!!!

Will update some pics next week when I sneak some time off my schedule okay? Promise!

Stressful nights! Damn!

Something new from the brat these few nights. Insist that I stand up and carry him to sleep! Hello! You know how heavy this fellow is now? And not that he falls asleep easily okay! He is such a light sleeper. And he is also such a super busy body! A slightest noise, light or movement around him and he will quickly open his eyes!!!!! F%#&!

On normal days, I just have to give him some milk and bring him close to my body (his body HAS to touch my body) and after some patting of the butt, he will go to sleep. And I am doing all these while just sitting beside him on his bed. But now, cannot! Must stand up! Must carry! F%#&!

Last night, I decided NOT TO GIVE IN! I am not about to let a 2 year old dictate to me! I know, some people will say .. he is cranky cos of his minor flu lar, minor cough lar, like that one lar terrible 2 stage .. BUT did you know that he is super damn smart?? He knows how to bully people and who to bully in particular!

He fussed at about 1.50am. I assume he wanted milk cos he refused to take his milk before going to bed about 11pm. So I quickly got up to make him his milk. But then he merajuk! Dunno lah for what. Then he wanted me to carry. I know he is about to start that already. So I insisted I sit down on his bed and pat him. Woah! He cry with maximum volume and kick me several times! I terus ignore him! Dont care! Cry lah all you want! Daddie tried to carry him - but you know, our fren dont want! Push daddie away! Sampai daddie also give up! Let him go and he came running back to me! Still crying with louder volume. I dont care. You want me to pat you to bed, can but I am not going to stand up and carry you here & there and pat you like a baby!

You know what - he cried for 1.5 hrs! And in that 1.5 hrs, he tried and tried to pull both my hands one after another asking me to stand up and carry him. I still dont care! I put my hand under my thighs as tight as I could - dont let him pull it out! I did not utter a single word for the past 1.5 hrs. I AM NOT GOING TO ALLOW HIM TO WIN!!!!

Finally our fren gave up. He then asked for milk. Stopped crying. Daddie went to take the milk from the warmer. Our fren then drank it on my lap while I was still seated on his bed. He looked me in the eye. I sayang his forehead and cheeks. Seems like he understood. After minum, mabuk terus! Good morning Malaysia! Its 3.30am.

What happened over the weekend

It was another busy weekend as usual. In fact, every single day since lil one arrived, there is always not enough time on hand. Leaving the house every morning whilst the sky is dark and only returning after sunset as well. Dinner is usually at 9.30pm every workday. So tiring!

Weekends are even worst! That's because I have lil one to me all day long. He has to cling to me whenever he seems me. He will cry (or pretend to cry) and wants to me hug him or carry him and even sit with him while he watches his favourite DVDs. So tiring!

On Saturday, it was daddie's birthday and daddie decided to spend the day with lil one & mommie at the Zoo! Cool idea eh! Actually its an al-cheapo idea .. cos mommie told daddie that its free entrance on his birthday, so that's why we went :-) Saved Rm15 ..hehehe. It was lil one's maiden trip to the Zoo and oh boy ... all he wanted was to be carried all the way! And only wants to be carried by his mommie! So tiring!

We went home 2 hrs later and fed lil one some noodles and then tried to coax him to have a nap. And a second later, both mommie & daddie were snoring as well :-) So tiring!

In the evening, mommie planned to "belanja" daddie, MIL, SIL & BIL dinner. We headed to Queen's Park for the famous "Golden Pumpkin Porridge Steamboat" ... sounds good leh .. well, yeah, its good! But of course, lil one wont sit still ... we took turns to carry him around. Thank god Queen's Park had a pet store and we took him there to check out the cute cats & lovely puppies. So tiring!

On Sunday, daddie went for his badminton as usual and I decided to spend the day at Mom's place cos I was dead tired. Needed some help with lil one. But Mom was busy making muruku & frying nga-ku for CNY. Tell you a secret, my Mom's muruku is to-die-for!!! I felt so bad bothering Mom on that day. But lil one fell asleep at 1pm for his nap, so I took the opportunity to help Mom with all the frying. Then we spring cleaned the whole house, etc. So tiring!

So that's how we spent the weekend ... so tiring!

Doesn't the word FREE make you read the headlines again! It did that to me!

I had no idea that F&N was having such a contest until I surfed into Nuffnang (you know them right, the people who were kind enough to throw the Friso Family Day Out Party)! And being the ever kind hearted Nuffnang, they requested for people like us (meaning Bloggers lah) to help out 2 other bloggers who are participating in this FREE party contest!

So you think I helped them or not? Sure I have to help lah ... cos Nuffnang ask one wor .... must help, cannot say cannot help .. hehehe.

Of course - given a chance, I also want to win a FREE PARTY .. but timing not right now. Even if I really win also no house to host it yet! Cos as you know, I am currently waiting for the darn day to arrive where the developer would call me to come over and collect the keys to my dream home. And then there is renovation. And then the furniture and all the stuff to buy to fill up the house, else no chair to sit, no bed to sleep and no TV .. so how to host party right???

But before all that, I need some advice ... I mean FREE ADVICE .. on interior designing .. and even best still .... free furniture, free TV, free bed, free dining table set, free sofa set, free aircond, free refrigerator, free kitchen cabinets, free .. free ... I think I am going crazy over this free thingy. I better stop now.

More & More Gated Communities

A Moonlight Rendesvouz who is based in Canada, visited my blog yesterday and mentioned that he keeps hearing the word "gated community" more often these days and asked me if the crime rate was that high that it warrants us to live within fencing walls and security 24-7!
Well, Uncle Lee .. here is a newspaper article I copied from The Star Online yesterday for your info. I guess it explains well how we need to "help" ourselves and safeguard ourselves rather than leave it to the hands of the authorities .. who are busy with "other" stuff!

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP Parliamentary Leader and Ipoh Timor MP Lim Kit Siang has taken the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan to task for trying to explain the worsening crime index by claiming that it is purely a problem of misperception.

Lim called on Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat MPs to take a common stand in Parliament on Wednesday to reject Musa’s explanation.

Over the weekend, Musa and deputy IGP Tan Sri Ismail Omar said that the latest statistics showed the crime index in Hong Kong, Japan and Australia were worse than the figures in Malaysia.

“What is outrageous is that the Cabinet and the National Economic Council (NEC) could be browbeaten so easily by the IGP on Tuesday to accept such a ‘ploy’, to the extent that this has been adopted as the official policy position as publicly enunciated by the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Monday,” he said.

Musa said that figures show that Malaysia is a relatively safe country with 772 crimes for every 100,000 residents in the country and this ratio compares favourably with Hong Kong where there were 1,166 cases for every 100,000 residents, Japan with 1,569 cases and Australia with 4,470 cases.

Lim said the statistics were misleading.

For instance, Malaysia has 90.49 cases of robbery per 100,000 compared with 4.78 cases in Japan, 17.56 in Hong Kong while homicide was 2.12 per 100,000 population compared with 1.09 cases in Japan and 0.26 cases in Hong Kong, he said.

Rape per 100,000 population in Malaysia was 11.47 compared with 1.62 in Japan and 1.54 in Hong Kong.

“How could the IGP be so irresponsible as to mislead the Cabinet and the NEC to believe that Malaysia is safer than Japan and Hong Kong?” he said.

On Tuesday, Lim had said that instead of fighting crime, the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was trying to fight the people’s perception.

While Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had acknowledged five years ago that crime incidents in the country was serious, Najib was denying it when figures had even soared higher than it had five years ago, he said.

So how can we NOT live within high wall fencings & round-the-clock security? How can we allow our children to be out of our homes and expect them to be SAVE? How? How?

I have not been baking!!!!

It's been ages since I last baked anything! I used to practise baking at least every Saturday afternoon but not anymore - and I am soooooo ... urrg!

I dont know why but every weekend my schedule is so full. Its either having to visit grandma or someone else. Then there is these visits to all the kitchen cabinet makers, electrical shops, etc. to do up surveys for our new home. Or service the car, visit the doc, etc. etc. In the evenings its dinner with mom or something. By then, my back & feet would be screaming out loud in pain!

Sundays are totally out for me. No baking cos no oven at MIL's place. Moreover, with lil one sticking to me all day long, forget it.

Weekdays are even worst! Finish work at 8pm or so, then drive to mom's to pick up lil one and then head back - reach home 9.30pm. Shower & have dinner. Interact with lil one for a while .. then bedtime at .. wow ... its way past 11pm!!!!! Zzzzzzzzz.
