Proposed Kitchen Design

Do you like this? I love it but white is definitely a no-no for me since I dont intend to have a live-in maid to help me with house chores. However, the clean lines and simplicity does appeal to me.

Any words of advise from any of you on kitchen cabinets before I work out my final design with my contractor? Appreciate it - thanks!

Of cos like their design, the thing is, my house kitchen is only 1/4 of their kitchen size...

the glass hung cabinets next to your cooking area may not be a good idea. if you are using a gas hob and frying, deep frying, etc will leave lots oil marks on the glass. It's a hassle to climb up and wipe.
-make sure there's power outlets everywhere esp on the island, perfect place to plug in an appliance you need to use, like a mixer or when you use it as a buffet table during parties, you can plug in your slow cooker or bain marie to keep your food warm.
- have you considered handle-less cabinets. I refuse handles in my dry kitchen, I don't want hubs or maid to hang towels or bananas on it.
- try to get anti-slam doors, safer for your little boys hands.
- make sure your hood is powerful enough, otherwise install an additional exhaust wall fan..

good luck.. keep us posted on your new house....

for ur cooking area, the exhaust will blow out where?? up to ceiling? cos normally there is an outlet. cant see it in the photo.

my color would be grey (modern color) + brown (conservative)..as per my photo i show u. but if i were to choose again, it will be little brown + grey.

make sure everything is within reach. n ur cooking hob ...get 4 rounds instead of 2 or 3..

now i using 3 hob. i find it tak cukup. maybe i m weird la. cos when i cook, i will multi-task menu. i m not the type that cook 1 dish already, then another. i try to save time but cooking min 2 dishes at a time... like spagetti..this is my order
- boil water
- cut up stuff (meat, garlic, etc) if i finish cutting earlier than water boil, then i will start cooking the sauce
- then while cooking the sauce, saw water boil, make the pasta
- while waiting for sauce to boil or cook, i will open my nearby cabinets to see what else i can complement.. like soup or make toast.

so u see.. i m a mad woman when in kitchen. n when i finish, the kitchen is always in the mess. cos all the pots n pans i have will be used, my 2 chopboards, all the knife.. hahaha

weird me.

thanks for dropping by my blog. The design is nice, and don't get white ... i have white because i hope to brighten my kitchen but the doors stain too much.
